OmBodies Yoga Studio is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School since 2011, training teachers at the 200-hour level and the 300-hour advanced level. Teacher trainings are led by Heather Otterbine, a double 500 hour certified E-RYT 500, YACEP, & Yoga Medicine Registered Therapeutics Specialist.
We are passionate about supporting our students in their efforts to build a yoga practice that is safe and sustainable for a lifetime of health and wellbeing.

E-RYT 500, YACEP
OmBodies Yoga Founder,
Lead Teacher Trainer, & Owner
Heather is a double 500-hour certified E-RYT 500, a Yoga Medicine Registered Therapeutics Specialist, and a YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider) with Yoga Alliance, and the owner of OmBodies Yoga. Her Vinyasa yoga classes feature challenging, creative sequences with an emphasis on precision cueing and healthy alignment. She uses these elements in combination with a deep understanding of anatomy and physiology to draw in other aspects of the yoga practice, such as, pranayama and meditation.
Heather has been practicing yoga since the Fall of 2000 and teaching since 2005. She completed the 200-hour Teacher Training Program with Sivananda Yoga in 2005, the PreNatal Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Works in NYC in 2006, the 500-hour Advanced Teacher Training at Moksha in 2014, and has most recently, completed her second
500-hour Advanced Teacher Training Certification with Tiffany Cruikshank & Yoga Medicine.
She opened OmBodies Yoga Studio in 2009 and has developed two successful teacher training programs, the OmBodies Foundational
200-hour & the OmBodies Advanced Teacher Training, both registered with Yoga Alliance.
Heather has always had a deep appreciation and respect for the focus and discipline that the yoga practice helps to develop but also truly enjoys the creative, explorative, and sometimes playful expression of ourselves that can come from our practice. “This beautiful, multi-faceted practice offers us the opportunity to discover and explore so many aspects of who we really are!”
Kelly tried yoga for the first time on a whim with some friends at a local studio. Little did she know that one yoga class would be the beginning of a beautiful and challenging, yet wonderful journey to finding a connection with herself, her practice, and those around her. Kelly developed a regular practice and has since increased her knowledge with Yoga Teacher Training at OmBodies, receiving her certification and becoming an RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance in January of 2019.
Kelly was drawn to teaching yoga because of the possibilities of helping others find a little bit more of themselves through the practice of yoga. Kelly believes yoga is a powerful practice that encourages the connection between mind, body, spirit, as well as community. We have the power to increase our ability to live a fuller life by honoring our bodies by practicing yoga, and by honoring the depth of our thoughts by practicing mindfulness. When we combine the two we create mindful movement that cultivates a sense of self we can tend to and help to grow no matter what phase of life we are in.
Kelly works in Midland, has a Bachelor of Arts in English with Communication and History Minors from SVSU and in her spare time enjoys hiking with her springerdoodle puppy Finn, playing the euphonium, reading a good book, and watching nerdy movies.
Kate’s passion for teaching yoga stems from the experiences she’s had within her personal practice. Walking into the studio for the first time, she had no idea what to expect. Even after the first class she noticed a tiny shift in her perspective, that small change eventually lead her to making yoga an integral part of her life. Through the years she has seen that there is always another layer, another challenge, and little discoveries that are waiting there for you on your mat.
Beyond the physical and healthful benefits, there is a peace that comes with practicing yoga and that is what is exciting for Kate and keeps her coming back for more. This journey has been a joyful one and she is happy to be a part of the OmBodies studio and family. Kate has lived in Mt. Pleasant for most of her life and feels very connected to the people and places here.
This connection fuels Kate’s excitement to share the yoga practice with the community through OmBodies Yoga Studio. Kate received her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification through OmBodies Yoga Studio in 2012.
Season’s interest in yoga was ignited while living in Chicago where she practiced at Turbodog Yoga. She attended a teacher training and chakra yoga course that left her with the desire to continue learning. She completed OmBodies' 200 hour teaching training program in February 2018 and is now a RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance. Season’s dharma is to hold a space of unconditional love for an individual to discover their sacred gifts and achieve, mind, body and spirit balance. She believes that depending on your goals yoga can help you evolve emotionally, spiritually and physically or all three!
Season has a Master’s degree in Business Administration. She is currently studying to become an Ayurvedic Health Counselor. Ayurveda is the sister science to yoga, both are part of the Vedic knowledge and integrate the mind/ body connection.
Off the mat she cares for her nieces, nephew and the light of her life, her toddler son. She loves the outdoors, bike riding, essential oils, trying out different healthy recipes, continuously learning and meditating.
Season focuses on being present in the moment, not living in the past or the future. The mindset “Loving what you do” is what made her shift her corporate career in search of what really makes her happy. That career shift brought Season to Yoga and Ayurveda!
E-RYT 200, YACEP
Janet started her yoga journey more than 20 years ago with a simple instructional yoga tape. When Heather brought OmBodies to Mount Pleasant, Janet began to grow her practice with the guidance of a learned and joyful yoga teacher. She developed her practice and as she began to unerstand the “union” of the mind, body, and spirit through yoga, she was inspired to delve deeper into the practice.
In October of 2013 she started her teaching journey with the White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara California earning her 200-hour certification. In February 2017 Janet completed her training and certification in Yoga for Osteoporosis. She continues to educate herself through online classes, books, and yoga conferences, as well as, attending classes to glean all that she can in order to make yoga accessible to all. Janet is passionate about encouraging every student as they make their way along their own journey in yoga.
Dame believes deeply in the power of yoga to transform one’s life as well as cultivate peace, love, and joy. Her passion and dedication to yoga has guided her as a mother, artist and lifelong learner. Dame was introduced to yoga in 2000 by her beloved teacher Summer. From that day forward, the depth and beauty of yoga has inspired her life in so many unexpected ways. Prenatal yoga and meditation profoundly supported her during her own pregnancies. Yoga and dance have been instrumental in her healing after a neck injury.
Having lived all over the United States, Dame has enjoyed experiencing yoga throughout her many travels. Dame completed her 200hr teacher training in 2006 with Annie Carpenter at Yoga Works in Los Angeles. In 2008 she received her prenatal certification with Shiva Rea at Exhale Center for Sacred Movement in Los Angeles. Recently, she completed a Barre Teacher Training with Blooma Barre at Renew Mama Studio in Grand Rapids and a NIA white belt with Winalee Zeeb at Heartdance in Lansing. She is grateful for all of the teachers in her life and is thankful to her teachers Summer Autio, Leslie Ellis, and Annie Carpenter for sharing their love of yoga and encouraging her to share yoga with others.
Along with the joys and responsibilities of motherhood, Dame is currently pursuing classes in the health sciences as well as deepening her studies of yoga at OmBodies Yoga studio.
Carlin found her way to yoga in 2010 after the birth of her children. While focusing on her family and raising her wonderful children, she felt like she was losing herself in the process. Having been a competitive gymnast, Carlin felt like she needed to find movement again. She was attracted to yoga for the physical benefits, but soon realized that it had much more to offer. Carlin fell in love with the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of the yoga practice and continued to develop her own personal practice over the years, finding a particular enjoyment in the challenge and strength of inversions.
Carlin has a Bachelor of Science in Health Fitness from Central Michigan University and also attended the Naturopathic Institute of Therapies and Education and found that the natural benefits of yoga complemented her education and beliefs.
In 2012 Carlin decided to deepen her knowledge of yoga by enrolling in the 200-Hour OmBodies Yoga Teacher Training program and has been enjoying teaching ever since.
